Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate Free

In our last post, we had written about a CUDA supported media convertor called Media Convertor NT. We have just learned that Wondershare is offering free licenses for its video convertor suite that can do more than the freeware we mentioned earlier. So grab a license for yourself while the offer lasts.

Wondershare video converter ultimate supports DVD ripping, video and audio converting, online video downloading, video burning and file transferring, helps you download videos from online video-sharing sites, enjoy your favorite DVD movies and videos (including DRM files) on popular mobile devices, transfer files to iPod, iPad, iPhone without iTunes. Besides, you also can burn all nice videos to DVD discs.

Features I liked about the software

  1. Almost all commonly used media formats like mp4, mpg, flv, wmv supported
  2. Nvidia CUDA support which makes video conversion almost 5 times faster
  3. Download online video and convert them directly
  4. Transferring files to devices supported within the software
  5. Basic video editing functionality like splitting and merging files
  6. DVD authoring from selected files
  7. Settings that can be tweaked very easily, more options

Benchmark

I tested a 700MB video file that is 1h:15 min long. Converted to mp4 using H .264 AVC codec, AAC audio, same resolution and 640 bitrate . The conversion took only 13 min. The quality was pretty good with very little loss of quality. The resulting file was only 380MB in size.

How to get the free license (offer lasts till 25 Sep 2010)

If you want a license head over to Wondershare’s facebook page and click the like button. Then enter your name and email id, you will immediately receive an email with your registration info.

To know more about the product you can visit the official Video Convertor Ultimate product info page.

Note :- For some reason Cnet.com’s download page given in the registration email was not working for me, if you face the same problem I suggest downloading from official site.

If you reach this page after the offer is over, I suggest you have a look at Media Convertor NT.

  1. Thank you! Hope its as good as you mentioned in the post.

  2. I just tried it out and i`m more then happy, would recommend it to all!

  3. I’m in love with this program, its way better than the others I have used. Something new I noted was that it uses both the GPU and CPU at max speeds.

Other program either use the GPU or the CPU but not both together.

  4. Hope its as good as you mentioned in the post.
    Thank you for share

  5. Hi Alfred, this indeed is a wonderful software. I want to ask something from you. I use Speedfan to monitor my Dell Laptop’s CPU temperature. I use Intel’s Core 2 Duo T7250 Processor & Windows 7 Ultimate version. I have noticed that every time I run an audio / video conversion software, the CPU temperatures shoot up above 60 degrees Celsius (and if not paused then above 70 and then 80) from 40 degrees Celsius within a minute.

So do these high temperatures harm the cpu (i.e. processors) and shorten their lives? what temperature is OK and for how long?

Please do answer or refer me to a person who would know about it.

    Thank you

  6. I like this service… Please don’t stop it. With the solution here, I was able to instantly identify the four bad drivers installed on my PC. Now my PC is running smoothly without frequent blue screen of death…
