How to Steam Dota 2 invite from Valve
First you need to install the Steam Client from the website.
Once the client is installed, restart the computer to make sure that the installation is completed and steam links will open.
Now we can proceed to take the hardware survey for Dota 2 invites. Do not be fooled by unofficial sites promising invites this is the only way.
Valve has put Dota 2 in beta so that it can test that the game works without problems on different computers and specifications. If you have a high end gaming PC chances are you have very common hardware that they dont want you to test the game on. This is the reason so many people do not get invites. Lets look at the minimum requirements needed to run Dota 2.
Dota 2 Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Windows® 7 / Vista / Vista64 / XP
- Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
- Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
- Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with 128 MB, Shader model 2.0. ATI X800, NVidia 6600 or better
- Hard Drive: At least 2.5 GB of free space
- Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Player who apply or complete the hardware survey from laptop have a very good chance at getting invites because of the mobile CPU and GPU models. Find an older computer which meets these basic requirements or visit a friend who has an old computer with a graphics card.
Install steam and take the hardware survey from that computer. This is your best chance to get a Dota 2 invite from Steam. Please do not be fooled by the many spam sites which collect your personal email id and name promising invites, they are fake and have no official connection with Dota 2.
I have seen many people get invites after doing this little trick, it does take a few days for them to send invites so be patient.
