Open blocked sites from school or office

Hey one thing I need to clarify on this, if we use a proxy does it make any difference in the broadband speed that we are on, does it getter or worse depending on the proxy, and also if using a proxy will the websites recognise our PC’s, please explain !!

These are webproxies so you open other sites through this site. Yes it will slow down your browsing a little, since the connection goes through the proxy.

Normal a website will record your IP (which shows your location and ISP), your browser and your Operating System.

Proxies help to hide this information from websites.

You missed out the most famous Proxy(atleast within Infoscion to access Orkut)…

I actually didnt miss KProxy.

I left it out. The site shows semi naked women in advertisments most the time or the server is overloaded and wont work.

You really dont want the side effects from the advertisments at work

o come on, this only works if there is a REALLY dumb system administrator. No way you can use this on my network, and if you try I will know.

In all the MNC companies that I’ve worked in it works because either the sys admin blocks everythings and allows only a set of whitelist URL’s to work, or he can try blacklist some of them (which is what most people do). Then this would definately work.

Some admins also use a web filtering system, but there is a flaw there too. These proxy sites uses https so most of the time the filter does not block it ….

Proxy sites were not the solution in my case, because every time i tried this, my internet connection slowed down and sometimes my computer freeze. Now i’m using IP Privacy software and it works fine.

There is a way to unblock websites by using google translation service. That’s cool way to use google as proxy server. I’ve explained in detail in my blog.
