Windows Godmode for Vista and Seven

    Categories: How To

Recently Windows 7 users were excited when they discovered the hidden Godmode feature in the OS. Godmode is a hidden feature in Windows that lets the user access shortcuts to different control panel functions in a folder they create.

I read about the Windows 7 godmode this morning on my friend Aben’s Blog. Little did I realize that this works on Windows Vista too ! So let me shows you how it works.

How to activate Windows Godmode

  1. Create a new folder on your desktop or within any existing folder. (Right click > New > Folder)
  2. For the folder’s name enter GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
  3. The folder icon will change and the folder will contain more than 250 shortcuts to control different aspects of your OS.

Note :- This will work on Windows 7 and Windows Vista 32 bit. Please do not try this on Vista 64 bit.

More goodies for Windows 7 users

Steven Sinofsky, Windows division president, has released these additional codes that activate different functions in Windows 7. This was mentioned in an email interview with Cnet News.

To use these codes, create a folder, enter a name, then a “.” and paste the code after it.

Example name a folder as techieportal.{0142e4d0-fb7a-11dc-ba4a-000ffe7ab428}
