Nice post. I think iCalendar Plus is a better calendar/agenda gadget, though. It is compatible with practically any calendar application (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook etc), and has lots of features. Check out its website and its gallery page.

Windows Vista gadgets can also be a significant resource hog. If your Vista system is running slow turn the gadgets off and see if it makes a difference in how responsive your system is. Performance impact can be more pronounced on Vista systems with only more than 1 GB of RAM.
