Comodo Internet Security (CIS) is a free award winning antivirus and firewall program. The software is free but it does not compromise on security, the state of the art antivirus & firewall is comparable to most other paid software.The new version 3.8 has very minimal memory usage and come with LivePCSupport. Got a problem with your PC ? Dont know if a file marked by Comodo is really risky ? Just use LivePCSupport to ask one of their agents.
While the basic free version of CIS provide good security for your computer, its Pro version adds more punch. Comodo Internet Security Pro comes with added features like TrustConnect and LivePCSupport. TrustConnect is a network, wherein you can mark programs as safe or unsafe and this info gets shared with other users to help them decide a file’s risk. LivePCSupport offers chat with agents to help you with setup, PC Tune-up and computer and printer troubleshooting.
Installation
It took about 5 minutes to install the software and another 10 minutes to update to the latest virus defenitions. Once the initial installation was done it ran an full system scan which took about 1 hour to finish. Installation was easy but it also tried to install Comodo’s browser bar which I unchecked.
Usage
The main screen is quite self explanatory, shows you if the system is updated, any firewall intrusions and blocked applications. The Traffic usage section is also pretty useful to know which program is sucking up the bandwidth. Since I know that my PC does not currently have any viruses, I’ve changed the Proactive Defense from safe mode to clean PC mode. This ensures that I do not get bothered with many requests for programs already on my system but will provide safety against any new files.
When new programs try to connect to the internet there is a popup box which asks you if you would like to allow the connection.
LivePCSupport
Once CIS Pro is installed and activated with a license you can accesss the account area to connect to a customer service agent via chat. Clicking on one of the link to the right as shown in the picture below will open a chat box.
I assumed the role of a newbie trying to install Comodo and wanting help with some suspected files. The agent immediately offered his help and started a remote connection to my computer and checked Comodo for proper installation. He also helped me with the file I made him believe was a virus (fake). LivePCSupport is worth the money anyone would pay for the Pro version. Why ? I’d rather not pay Dell (or any other provider) a ton of cash just to get some help with my PC troubleshooting. Getting free tech support for non techies is a huge blessing.

I have been trying all sorts of FREE VERSION anitvirus ware. They don’t seem to agree with my Vista Ultimate, seem to slow it down. Do have a paid version of Desktop Maestro that seems to work good and a free Threat fire Antivirus.

I’ve been using their free s/w. Love it. A techie uninstalled it, saying it interfered with networking. I know that’s not correct, because networking works just fine with Comodo at work. And I still have the networking problems.

If performance rather than ease of use is your criterion, then the Comodo Internet Security is the top contender. The firewall itself is very robust, including an intrusion detection system (or HIPS program — called \Defense+\ in Comodo). It also provides buffer overflow protection (a \memory firewall\), a training mode to automatically create rules for programs you trust, and a parental control password to automatically block all alerts (so children and inexperienced users do not make poor decisions on popup alerts). It’s the only top free firewall with full anti-keylogger protection. On the minus side, the HIPS is initially rather talkative, and this may unnecessarily alarm inexperienced users. However, for the technically initiated who can cope with these annoyances, this is an outstanding free product and an easy first choice.

I am doing this for my dad since he just got a new computer with norton trial which we all know is a cpu hog. He needs something simple and I use the free version personally but I would feel alot safer putting the registered internet security so that way he won’t kill this new machine. From all the firewalls I have tried, Comodo is the lightest on resources for my computer. I have tried the firewall and like it very much. Right now I have Kaspersky, and get a lot of false positives for viruses. I had Norton Internet Security before, and found it to be very intrusive. Comodo seems to have a simple installation process, and is not very intrusive. I would like a license for the Pro version because the product if very good by ratings that I have seen. With the extra security of knowing there is live help available is comforting, and makes the product more valuable over time. Thanks.

Simply put, COMODO Rocks! I have Comodo installed on my desktop (for 2 years now). When my ESET license runs out on my laptop… COMODO will take over! I have installed COMODO Internet Security on my parents computers, and on a co-workers laptop.

I just installed the CIS package today in my M$ Vista Home Basic system after uninstall the AVG FREE 7.5 because no virus database update is available for the version now.
I’ve use the Comodo Firewall before this and have no bad experience. By installing CIS, i’m giving the Antivirus a test run. Hopefully it will perform very well.
I’m also install the BOClean Anti-malware for added security..
For now, the CIS + BOClean work well on my system.. No, effect on system performance.

I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I have never tried any Comodo product other than the EasyVPN product, which I have only been able to trial briefly as nobody else I know has it despite my constant pestering of them to get it.
I have however taken advantage of many of the “license giveaway” type promotions before, as I don’t have a lot of money and appreciate those companies who run them, despite the varying degrees of success.
I’m yet to find a company which offers the kind of support which Comodo gives to customers of the Pro version, (based on their website and your write-up), and to be honest, there are so many times when such a level of support would have saved me hours and hours of clean-up time, but I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point.
As far as why I’d like to move to CIS Pro from my current vendors, (Kerio Personal Firewall – Free trial of NOD32), to be honest, it’s principally because of what I have seen of EasyVPN. For a company to produce such a nice little application, which uses minimal resources, is as easy as tying your shoe laces and performs superbly, then to top it all off does it as an add-on to their main business only makes me think that quality of the CIS Pro must be very good. If money wasn’t an issue, I’d already have it in all honesty.
Anyway, that is why I would be grateful of a license. Thank you for your consideration.

Apparently based on my internet security research, Comodo Firewall is known for it’s superior firewall, What I like most with comodo is that every steps that I make in my computer, Comodo promts me before running it or rather suggest some info’s regarding it. The best part though it has a anti-virus built in that satisfies everyone’s agenda needs. What I like to know more is the Wi-Fi Protection this is the reason why I’m posting this comment so that in my personal reason I “might” experience how Comodo Internet Security “PRO” really does work. And another reason for this is that I wanna compete this product with my friends in school that has various of competitive internet security softwares.

This is the best security suite you can get for free.It’s Defense Plus HIPS is top notch. I always believe that a HIPS firewall is the first line in defence against internet threat. Where else a combination with a good antivirus with a good detection will strengthen this suite. This suite is light on resource and antivirus have a fast on demand scanner.CIS free is a good as some other paid internet security suite. CIS will even get better with the coming 4.0 version. I hope there is still a license left for free on the Pro version. I would like to see how does the Trust Connect works. Thanks.
I’ve used Kaspersky Internet Security for one year. It’s good but virus scanning is very slow. Thereafter, used K7 anti virus for a year but updating from internet is very slow and gets disconnected off and on, files are not saved and starts afresh in case of disconnection. Both were paid version and I’ve removed both from my PC. Have read many good features of COMODO and seriously would like to try. Am I lucky enough to have a license still left for free on COMODO’s Pro version? Many many thanks for the opportunity.

I love COMODO! I am using many from Comodo products and really I am satisfied. What do I have from Comodo? I have CIS (without of “pro” :/), Comodo Memory Firewall, Comodo Verification Engine, Comodo AntiSpam, Comodo BoClean and it’s really is working! I am accepting CIS 6 or 8 months and not to have any virus or other ugly, rubbish of electronics. When somebody want to hack me Comodo Memory Firewall blocked it and informed me of this attack. After use Comodo products I have others, not satisfacted antiviruses, antimalware – there are not for me, one time it’s destroy my system!

Comodo Internet Security had me loved it. It is light in my system even though this PC is about a decade old. It’s fast and packed with features that other security suites would offer with high prices. It does a lot of good things yet it is simple and easy to use. It learns and adjusts. I installed it to replace my old and intrusive anti-virus program. Comodo Internet Security is simply amazing.
A license for a Pro would help me explore the features of the suite like the TrustConnect which I really got interested into. I really love to get more from it. Do you still have licenses to give away? I’m currently using Comodo. I like the quality of virus protection you get and that it is fairly unobtrusive. However, at times I find it annoying how many “click throughs” I have to do to allow something to download.
Comodo Internet Security Pro is known as the most powerful firewall, the user is a tremendous performance. I want to use it.

I use Comodo free firewall version, but i would like to upgrade my security :)
Great product. I was using AVG for a few years but became interested in Comodo roughly 6 months simply because it is able to show me everything thats accessing/installing/etc on my PC.
OOMODO Firewall has been keeping my computer safe and virus free for many years. I tried many other products but always come back to COMODO.
It may not be right for every computer setup, but it sure is right for me.

I have been using Comodo, the free version of their internet security suite for yrs now, and I love it!
It uses very little resources, and works just as well as any paid suite you could get your hands on. I have tried many others (just about everyone) and I always come back to Comodo. There product suite is second to none!
I would be very disappointed if they weren’t around.
If at all possible i would love to receive a product key for there Pro version.

I recommend Comodo many of my friends and they use Comodo products and they say me: “it’s very good”, “I like this”, “it’s really works!” and “I used many programs, but this is the best!”.
I think it’s really easy to use and most of process are aromatically.

When I installed my Windows XP PC, the first firewall That I used was actually comodo free version. I also used their antivirius free version at that time, Now they have full internet security, It would be interesting to see their actual improvement, as far as I remember the full antivirius scan used to take sometime!

I am using the free version of your state art of the antivirus and firewall program, CIS. Now I wanna know the the difference between the free verion and the licensed version.
Well I’ve been using another Internet Security Suite and my license finished so i needed one Internet Security Suite that could be better than the last one i was using! my opinion?! simple! Comodo Internet Security received a better punctuation than the one i was using, and even the upgrade (2010 version) didn’t change from the previous position; and for the specs i read it seemed to be more configurable than the Internet Security Suite i was using! The wi-fi protection is very important and is included only on the Pro version of Comodo Internet Security! i use various pc’s at home! Unfortunately there is not a 3 pc’s license! so I’m hoping to win at least one in this contest! :D

Have been using the free version of Comodo, and am impressed by its range of features, ability to block programs, networks, specific URLs. Have tried other firewalls but find Comodo easy to use, relatively light on resources and not troublesome to use on my computer.
Would be happy to have a licence for the Pro version.

Just to add a bit more on the above, I think even the standard COMODO is much better than the well-known paid firewalls, so I would really want to test the quality of the professional edition.
Comodo is great i love using it i feel safer online basically doing anything online. Like the security is excellent i would say like when i download software that attempts to harm comodo detects and make sure whatever the software may be doesnt harm my computer. I really would like the free license because i really feel safer with comodo then with over antivirus or firewall software. Thanks so much

I installed this system protection software on my netbook. It is working great on it without consuming much resources (only 5 MB RAM), giving me good amount of RAM for other activities. So I would definitely want to use it pro features to take more use of this software.
