Facebook version of retweets – via

Facebook has released a new feature which which behaves like Twitter’s retweet. It released the via feature which shows the name of the person from whom you shared links.

If your friend posts a link on Facebook, you can click the Share button below it. This will bring up the box to enter your title and below it, you can notice the via link to the original posters profile.

Currently this option works only for links posted by others, it doesnt not seem to work with pictures and videos.

Earlier it would have been considered impolite sharing a link posted by a friend, the via feature allows you to share the link while giving credit to the original poster.

We think the via feature should be introduced to Videos as well, atleast video links to Youtube.
