Create, Design & Draw a Free Family Tree

As generations pass by and nuclear families becoming the norm, its hard to keep track of who your cousins and uncles are. Fortunately for me, someone in my family had made a family tree 10 years ago, which traces the family to about 9 generations before me. A family tree would make an awesome gift to someone in your family…

Geni is a freeĀ  genealogy service that allows you to create and share family trees securely over the internet. The interface is very easy to use. You can add your immediate family and close ones, they can then expand the tree to include other people they know.

Geni also works as a social network within a family tree. The family tree is secure and only family members can view or add to the same.

Each member in the family tree can add their own profile and communicate with others. Family members can also share photos, videos, events & discussions. There is a family timeline shows the history of everyone in the family.

Geni allows you to invite family member from Facebook to the site. It also allows posting wall posts on Facebook to be published on the Family page.

Users can also import existing family trees using the GEDCOM format.
